Stress Management and Relaxation

Stress occurs when a person perceives that demands exceed what they are capable of handling. When we are in a situation that we don’t think we can handle, being stressed doesn’t help us. It narrows our ability to think clearly, it causes us to neglect our body’s health, and it reduces our ability to work with people and deal with problems (as we are irritable, sporadic, jumpy, anxious, etc.). Thus, the goal of stress management is to bring your body, mind, and soul back into balance. Here are some ways that I can help you reduce your stress level.

  • Figure out your limits and learn how to say no
  • Take control of your situation
  • Learn to express your feelings
  • Accept the things you can’t change
  • Adapt to the stressful situation
  • Change the way you look at a situation (your expectations and attitudes)
