We have all felt anxious at one point or another – our heart starts pounding, our breaths get shorter, our palms start sweating, and we feel butterflies in our stomach. We worry and fear many things in our lives. Will my boss fire me after the mistake I just made? Are my kids safe at school? Will we have enough money to support the family? Will I past this exam and graduate on time? Will she say yes if I ask her out? It is normal to worry and fret; in fact, anxiety can be helpful. It can keep us alert, drive us to take action, prompt us to make changes in our lives, or motivate us to confront someone. However, if your anxiety is constant and overwhelming and it starts to interfere with the way you would like to live your life, you may be suffering from an anxiety disorder. Fortunately, anxiety is treatable. Here are a few ways that I can help you bring your life back into balance.
"People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously. This is how character is built."
--Eleanor Roosevelt
